Clifford Mayers aka Socaman Cliff was born in the Island of Dominica and started in the music industry at the early age of ten, performing in school concerts, and many other venues. Cliff was also was the voted Favorite Young Singer on a Caribbean Cruise that he took with his family.

Cliff was influenced by his two older brothers playing drums in a few top Dominican Bands and touring the Caribbean, Canada and U.S.A. By age Sixteen Cliff started playing drums and had the advantage of performing drummer and vocalist in many groups after he migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1979.

Cliff has backed up many Caribbean artists. He has also appeared in the world famous Apollo Theater in New York City. Cliff migrated from New York City to South Florida in 1993, and because of his great performances and stage presence he was given the stage name Socaman Cliff, which is known around the globe. If you hear the name Cliff Mayers or Socaman Cliff it's the same person.

In 1998 Cliff formed the band Wyle fyah, after one month of vigorous rehearsals the band took off on high speed and has not slowed down since; guess the name Wyle fyah says it all!

Cliff is a versatile vocalist who sings Reggae, Soca, calypso, rock, blues, oldies, and Top 40's. Cliff also does a good rendition of Luis Armstrong classics which is Highly requested at many functions where his band performs.

The band has performed for several opening acts such as Shaggy, Jimmy Buffet, Third World, Inner Circle, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Yellowman, Culture, and Mighty Diamonds just to name a few.
